Papal And Muslim Phidelity?

I am wondering if anyone can confirm, and cite sources verifying claims I have recently come accross about a form of phidelity between the Papcy and Islam.I've heard and read claims indicating Muhammad was once effectively told by the Catholic church that he was right on. In Muhammad's early ministry did he received some form of message from the Pope of his day, or Papal emissary, saying he was in accord with Papal thought?
