[jez-uh-bel, -buhl] there is no real translation of this name but it is now the most common term used towards any wicked or shameless woman. These days it is also a term used by certain Christian groups to intimidate and control people .. "Oh you have a Jezebel spirit" brings more fear to hearts especially women..

Let me first say I do not believe in the "Spirit of Jezebel" or the "Jezebel Spirit" what it is is a group of spirits cooperating as one...

The real Jezebel was the daughter of the Phoenician king Ethbaal (which means with baal) and culd have held the position of high priest of Baal as well.Jezebel not only promoted Idolatry with Baal, but also Asherah (Asteroth) Jezebel has become emblematic of false prophets and prophetess , The combo pack of spirits masqurading are :

Spirit of Idolatry .. ( often in the guise as well of false teachings especially denouncing YHWH as the only God or true God ...

Spirit of confusion - Often twisting scripture making it sound right

Spirit of control

Spirit of power

Spirit of domination

Spirit of persecution ( especially against one who defies the authority and stands on true scripture .. the best weapon of defeat of these spirits is the exact correct speaking out of the real word of YHWH)

Spirit of slander

Spirit of divination

Spirit of Mothergod

Spirit of lies

Spirit of vanity

Spirit of assertion ...

these come under direct command of Leviathon when a true prophet appears on the Horizon

Yes D'vprah , we need to speak out on important issues rather than wasting time on the irrelevant ! The controlling spirit is quite different than what is identified as "Jezebel"  , when that true "Jezebel" manifests I find it is usually several evil entities masquerading as one  .

I have heard a similar teaching where the emphasis was on woman usurping God-given authority, in addition to many of the other listed: power, control, domination, persecution, etc. I found it interesting they coupled the teaching with a lesser-known "Spirit of Ahab", basically man who does not step into his God-given role.

No where in the teaching did they suggest that man was to lord it over woman, but they were both to accept their appointed responsibilities in humility and love.

Thanks for this word; yes, I have heard of misuse of this term as a means of "controlling" people, and I wish more people would speak out with some knowledge like this.

Ok, thanks Daniel.

I haven't heard that angle before.  Every man and his dog reads this section differently but I think if you are right the principle is the man should have taught things.

Also I know I'm a month or so late but I don't log on that often.

@KnuNetzer Adam knew better; but Eve was sincere and in her ignorance was deceived. The issue of who did what is what every lawyer pounces on! When the command was given to not eat Eve and Adam were one being and YHWH had not created Eve (Isha) as yet. But Eve thought the rule had not applied to her direct... ergo was deceived. The question on a lawyers mind was Satan was right .. "Did God tell you you should not die" |? Well yes and no! No where in scripture did YHWH say "Now Eve you remember that rule I told you ..." That was Adam's job ! That being said ... I also do not teach that the "Tree" was the "original"sin for the first law or command that was given was not  fulfilled until after they were booted out of the garden ... "BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY"  Adam did not know his wife until after the booting ... and she bore him sons.. just a thought ..

""If women were not given any means of authority , what would be the significance of a queen?? Read Judges, women are also mentioned in that authority""

Good point!

I'll have to get a better understanding. Clearly I'm wrong here.

It's the things that Sha'ul / Paul mentioned that give me the impression. Plus Sin is attributed to Adam even though Hhawah sinned first, being her head he got in trouble.

I need to look into it more. Thanks for the correction.

If women were not given any means of authority , what would be the significance of a queen?? Read Judges, women are also mentioned in that authority, but then iI tend to define authority different than power.

Any woman that upsurps authority for power is evil, but then men can do that too, hence the spirits behind this thing .

"Spirit of control
Spirit of power
Spirit of domination"

I thought that was all it was. Like our modern world having women rise above men in authority. Non scriptural.
How do we really define it if it has so many meanings?
