The Netzari Faith

Netzarim, Original followers of Yeshua & His 12

Reader Comment

I'm getting conflicting teachings by all the various "rabbis" on the internet. As you know, everybody seems to say something different, but the one thing that really bothers me is when people say the New Testament is not divinely inspired. What do YOU say?

The Netzarim Response

The Torah (first five Books) contains all the "thus saith the Lord" quotes; Words and commands from YHWH (Yahweh) Himself, who actually spoke to His prophets; therefore, the Torah was divinely inspired. YHWH personally told Moshe (Moses) to write down everything He told him:

Exodus 24: 1 To Moshe [ADONAI] said, "Come up to ADONAI - you, Aharon, Nadav, Avihu, and seventy of the leaders of Isra'el.Prostrate yourselves at a distance, 2 while Moshe alone approaches ADONAI -the others are not to approach, and the people are not to go up with him." 3 Moshe came and told the people everything ADONAI had said, including all the rulings. The people answered with one voice: "We will obey every word ADONAI has spoken." 4 Moshe wrote down all the words of ADONAI. He rose early in the morning, built an altar at the base of the mountain and set upright twelve large stones to represent the twelve tribes of Isra'el. 5 He sent the young men of the people of Isra'el to offer burnt offerings and sacrifice peace offerings of oxen to ADONAI. 6 Moshe took half of the blood and put it in basins; the other half of the blood he splashed against the altar. 7 Then he took the book of the covenant and read it aloud, so that the people could hear; and they responded, "Everything that ADONAI has spoken, we will do and obey."

However, the entire Bible reports instances when YHWH spoke with an audible voice, which means while the Torah was divinely inspired, YHWH's Grand Plan kept unfolding - and this was outlined in both the Tanakh ("Old Testament) and B'rit Chadasha ("New Testament) - which in reality was not "new" but rather renewed.

Exodus 33:11 tells us that He spoke to Moses "face to face" (see, also, Numbers 12:7, Deuteronomy 34:10). We also read, for example, that he spoke to Joshua (Joshua 1:1) and the prophet Gad (1 Chronicles 21:9). Samuel may have heard an audible voice in 1 Samuel 3:1-14. A voice from the heavens was heard when Yeshua was baptized by John (Matthew 3:17, Mark 1:11, Luke 3:22) and from a cloud that appeared when Yeshua was transfigured on a high mountain (Matthew 17:5, Mark 9:7). And Paul and his traveling companions heard his voice when Paul was struck blind on his way to Damascus to murder Messianic believers (Acts 9:4).

YHWH also spoke TO and THROUGH His chosen prophets who were killed if every word/prophecy they spoke didn't come true.

The Bible offers the only written message from YHWH to the world. It contains the record of His commands and acts since the beginning of time and represents the most basic and most reliable communication from Elohim Himself. It also provides the line against which all other words or messages should be tested and measured to confirm that they agree with it or, at least, do not conflict with it.

The Tanach (which starts with Genesis and ends with 2 Chronicles) was YHWH's way of providing us a history of Himself and His people which shows His constant grace and mercy for a disobedient humanity who keep insisting on doing things their way. "His people" are comprised of the Patriarchs Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all their descendants and everyone who has chosen YHWH as their God.

PLEASE NOTE: Many are under the false impression that "the Jews" are God's Chosen, but this is not true. "The Jews" has simply become a blanket description for all Israelites - but in actuality, only someone born into the Tribe of Judah can claim they are Jews. The fact is, there were no Jews until after Jacob begat the Tribe of Yehudah (Judah - Genesis 29:35; Matthew 1:1-2). The Tanach (OT) shows that His Chosen were called Hebrews (Genesis 14:13). (See the lives of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the Tanach).

HOWEVER, if we read the Scriptures in context, we can see that EVERYONE, beginning with Cain and Abel, was Torah observant - which negates the Christian claim that they don't have to obey God's Law! ANYONE who believes in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is to be Torah observant, and God even said so FOUR TIMES IN A ROW in Numbers 15:13-16! YHWH (Yahweh) chose Abraham because He wanted to (Deut. 7:6-8) and He reiterated this in Jeremiah 31:32 by making His New Covenant with the Houses of Israel and Judah - both of whom were Torah observant.

THE GOOD NEWS IS, believing Gentiles who are grafted into the Olive Tree (Israel) automatically become part of Israel. They are "ONE" in Messiah - which doesn't mean they are Jews or Hebrews; it means they are to become Torah observant believers in Messiah Ye.... Same God, same rules! Please keep above facts in mind when reading the below which refers to "the Jews" in general terms.

The Brit Chadasha is a continuation of YHWH's "God-breathed" mitzvot/words wherein we see many Tanach prophecies unfold; especially the Messianic prophecies outlined in Isaiah 53 and elsewhere!

So, while the Torah contains the ONLY actual Words/Divine Instructions in Righteousness from YHWH, it is wrong to say that the NT is not divinely inspired - because, without it, we would have NO knowledge of Yeshua and His ministry and teachings while He walked the earth. After all, Yeshua was "Immanuel" (God with us) and YHWH-Come-in-the-Flesh; our Messiah who performed miracles and spoke many awesome things!

YHWH needed us to see "the whole picture" and that picture starts in Genesis and ends with Revelation.
